As a Coach Developer for the USTA. USPTA and PTR, Scott is one of the foremost experts in Coaching Education in the tennis industry. He developed the curriculum for the Professional Tennis Management (PTM) Program at Methodist University and is a founding member of the Thomason Institute for Racquet Sports Coach Education, an online educational forum for coaches around the world. He earned his Master's Degree in M.Ed. in Curriculum Development and Instruction and his Doctorate of Business Administration from Grand Canyon University.
Having coached 19 players ranked #1 in their age division, Scott has developed numerous top nationally-ranked junior tennis players, including two future NCAA Division I Singles Champions. His certifications include:

In addition to coaching players at every level, Scott has served as the Tournament Director or Referee for over 800 tournaments in his career.
A stickler for details, he served as the Referee for the 2017 USTA Boys 12s Clay Court Championships at the USTA National Campus and the 2014-2017 National Doubles Championships held in conjunction with the ATP Winston Salem Open event, which are both USTA National Level 1 events.
His tournaments have won several USTA Junior Tournament of Year awards. One of Scott's notable achievements was running two USTA/Southern level events at the same time in the same city during COVID, featuring six sites, over 60 courts and a staff of 30 officials.
He runs 8 of the 13 USTA Level 5 Tournaments in North Carolina and directed over 70 tournaments in 2021.
